Kingswood, Joseph Vaz joint champions
Susil Ratnaweera-Panadura North Group Corr
At the All Island Under 15 Men's/Women's Hockey Tournament held by
the Sri Lanka Hockey Federation, Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa and
Kingswood College, Kandy clinched the joint men's Championship while
Seethadevi Girls College, Kandy and Sri Sangamiththa Girls College,
Matale won the joint women's Championship.
63 school teams participated in this tournament which ran for three
days and was held at Sri Sumangala (Boys) College Panadura grounds and
the public grounds, Panadura.
The opening ceremony was held under the patronage of the President of
the Sri Lanka Hockey Federation and DIG of Police, Sumith Edirisinghe at
Sri Sumangala (Boys) College grounds Panadura organized by the Kalutara
District Hockey association. Its President K. A. Sisira Kumara, Senior
Vice President P. Vishwanathan, Panadura SP H. M. Dharmasena, Principal
Sri Sumangala (Boys) College L. W. Somatilake Vithana also participated
at the ceremony.
On the closing day of the tournament trophies and prizes were
presented by the former Secretary of the Sports Ministry and Kelaniya
University lecturer.

Joint Champions: Joseph Vaz College, Wennappuwa, Kingswood College,
Kandy.
3rd Place: Zahira College, Matale.
Bowl Champion: Sri Sumangala (Boys) College Panadura.
Plate Champion: D. S. Senanayake College, Colombo.
Teams who won championships of Under 15 hockey (women's)
Joint Champions: Seethadevi Balika Vidyalaya Kandy, Sri Sanghamiththa
Balika Vidyalaya, Matale.
3rd Place: Sirimavo Balika Vidyalaya Colombo.
Bowl Champion: Panadura Balika Vidyalaya, Panadura.
Plate Champion: Janadhipathi Vidyalaya Nawala.
