New Navy Commander
Ridma Dissanayake
Rear Admiral Jayanath Colombage is the current commander of the
Eastern Naval Command and would be promoted to the rank of Vice Admiral.
He would assume duties as the new Navy Commander tomorrow, September 27
at the Sri Lanka Navy Head Quarters.
Rear Admiral Colombage joined the Sri Lanka Navy in 1978 as a Cadet
Officer and served in the operational areas since he was a junior
officer. He led several successful operations against the Sea Tigers
during the North East conflict. He is an old boy of St Sylvester
College, Kandy.
