Lanka celebrates World Tourism Day

The Ministry of Economic Development, along with Sri Lanka Tourism Development Authority will organize the World Tourism Day 2012 (WTD12) Celebrations in Sri Lanka.

The main ceremony will be held in Colombo to organize a seminar on "Tourism and Sustainable Energy" on September 27 at Ramada Hotel. Further islandwide celebrations will take place in all provinces with the support of provincial administrations and stakeholders under the Ministry of Tourism's declared "Tourism Week."

World Tourism Day is celebrated worldwide on September 27, each year. This year will mark the 33rd Anniversary of the UNWTO World Tourism Day and UNWTO has declared "Tourism and Sustainable Energy: Powering Sustainable Development," as the theme.
