Anandians in semi-finals

Ananda College Colombo made their way to the under-15 division one inter-schools tournament semi-finals when they recorded an easy win over Bandarawatta Parakrama Vidyalaya in the quarter final played at Ananda Mawata yesterday.

The home team batted first and scored 189 for 9 with the help of a fighting knock from Kaveesha Rathnayaka who scored 42. Sahan Suraweera (28) and Prabash Hansamal (31) also batted well.

In reply, Bandarawatta Parakrama Vidyalaya were all out for 152 in 48.2 overs. Rukshan Widuranga (40) and Vihanga Wijenayaka (41) tried to lift the visitors' total. Umayanga Dehigama was the star bowler for the Anandians with 3 for 39 while Achila Eranga and Abisheak Weerasingha bagged 2 for 8 2 for 28 respectively to guide Anandians to a 37 run victory.
