Man arrested for harassing, robbing foreigner

Hikkaduwa Police arrested a person who had allegedly stolen foreign currency to the value of Euro 4,000 and property including a mobile phone from an elderly Finland woman after causing sexual harassment. Police arrested the suspect following a complaint by the victimized foreigner.

Heroin on wheels: two arrested

The Mirihana Special Crime Operations Unit arrested two suspects with 11 grammes of heroin while being transported in a motorcycle in Kalubowila, Kohuwala. The suspects, residents of Dehiwala, were produced before the Nugegoda magistrate’s court yesterday.
