Polls results show rejection of separatism - NFF

The Provincial Council election results have demonstrated that is no room for separatism in the country, said National Freedom Front Politburo Member Piyasiri Wijenayake addressing the media yesterday at NFF party office.

"This election is not just an election. It is a special election which showed the people's hatred towards the separatist forces.

Some political parties competed at the election with the objective of fulfilling their separatist plans.

People showed their dislike for these ideas by defeating all these political parties." Wijenayake said.

He also said people in the Eastern Province also taught a valuable lesson to the world by rejecting all political groups who clamoured for separatism in the country.

The SLMC also highlighted ethnicity. But people showed that in order to protect this peaceful country, they will never support these divisive groups.
