‘Development expedited with people’s mandate’

Development activities of Sabaragamuwa, North Central and Eastern provinces will be expedited as expected by the people who voted for a massive victory of the United People’s Freedom Alliance (UPFA) at the Provincial Council election, UPFA General Secretary Susil Premajayantha in a press release said.

“The government will be fully committed to augment the ethnic harmony among various ethnic groups and carry out development activities in a rapid manner.

The General Secretary thanked all who supported to secure a mammoth victory of the UPFA government led by President Mahinda Rajapaksa.

Minister Premajayantha also thanked the service rendered by Election Commissioner Mahinda Deshapriya and his officials who made efforts to conduct a free and fair election. He acknowledged the UPFA tribute to IGP N.K. Illangakon and other police officials who provided security and helped conduct a corruption free election.

He congratulated all winners of the election and urged their fullest support for the development of the country.
