Sacred Relics at historic Kelaniya before departure

The Sacred Kapilavasthu Relics will be taken from Gangaramaya today
to the Kelani Rajamaha Viharaya, where there will be an Exposition till
7am tomorrow before the Relics are taken back to India the same day.
The Relics will arrive at the historic Kelani Rajamaha Viharaya at
8.30am today, Buddhist Affairs Commissioner General Chandra Prema Gamage
said.
The Exposition of the Sacred Relics at Hunupitiya Gangaramaya ended
at 6pm yesterday.
The Relics will arrive at the Kelani Rajamaha Viharaya at 8.30am
today. Devotees can pay homage to the Relics until 7 am tomorrow, he
said.
Millions of devotees paid homage to the Sacred Kapilavastu Relics
since arrival in the country on August 19.
Meanwhile, District Secretary, Colombo, H T Kamal Padmasiri said
around 500,000 devotees worshipped the Sacred Kapilavastu Relics at
Hunupitiya Gangaramaya Temple by yesterday evening.
“The programme was carried out very successfully. All pilgrims were
able to fulfill their dream of worshipping the Sacred Relics,” he said..

Birendra Singh said the Exposition of the Sacred Kapilavastu Relics in
Sri Lanka was successfully carried out.
He said thousand of devotees were able to pay homage and worship the
Sacred Kapilavastu Relics after about 34 years.
