Special transport for Relics exposition

A special transport service commenced from Town Hall for devotees paying homage to the Kapilavasthu Sacred Relics at Gangaramaya- Hunupitiya, while a special train service is also being operated.

Under this programme, all express trains will stop at the Slave Island Railway Station. Plans have also been drawn to ply SLCTB buses from outstations across Town Hall.

Meanwhile, a special long distance bus service has also been arranged. Bus services to Ratnapura and Matara commencing from Town Hall are in operation.

This service will continue uninterrupted until the Relics Exposition at Gangaramaya ends.

A Railway Central Control Room spokesman said special train services will operate from Colombo Fort to distance areas.

Following is the schedule: Today: Fort to Polgahawela - 2.15pm, Fort to Avissawella - 2.30pm, Fort - Padukka 11.30 pm, Maradana - Induruwa - midnight, Maradana - Aluthgama 1pm, Kalutara - Gampaha 12.05 am - Gampaha -Panadura - 3.00pm, Panadura -Maradana 5.00pm, Maradana - Negombo 9.15pm, Negombo- Fort 10.45pm, Fort -Negombo 10.15pm, Negombo- Fort 1.45pm September 11 -Fort -Negombo 12.15 am
