Govt always works for people's welfare - minister

The government has taken measures to provide a block of land for
every family through a proper and transparent process.

The day when people will enjoy the ownership of land which they have
toiled for all their life is not far away, said Coconut Development and
Janatha Estate Development Minister Jagath Pushpakumara.
He was participating at the opening ceremony of the rehabilitation
project of old minor irrigation reservoirs in Wellawaya and Buththala
areas.
Minister Pushpakumara said the government has decided to offer
something in return to the people for all their dedicated work done to
protect the Motherland.
"Though the UNP ruled the country for many years, they didn't work
closely with the general public. But the present government always works
with the peoples interests at heart", he said.
"During the war period, politicians had to live like prisoners. But
President Mahinda Rajapaksa created a peaceful country for all Sri
Lankans to live together." the minister said.
"The government does not play politics when it comes to the people's
welfare. The government's main aim is working for the people and looking
in to their welfare. Everyone has equal rights and is treated equally
when it comes to receiving benefits.
Uva Provincial Council Chief Minister Wimal Galagamaarachchi, Uva
Provincial Council Member Chandana Welivita, Buththala Divisional
Secretariat Chairman Damayantha Dolewaththa and many other people
participated to the occasion. |
