Minister orders full investigation into milk disposal issue

Livestock and Rural Community Development Minister Arumugam Thondaman yesterday said that he has ordered a full investigation into media reports over the disposal of milk at Ambewela and Polonnaruwa Milco factories.

"I have appointed a three member committee to hold an inquiry on this and report their findings and recommendations to me within 24 hours."

Our initial findings on this incident were that the milk disposed was spoilt and could not be processed. However, further comments will be possible only after I have all the facts before me from the inquiring team and seen their recommendations.
