Housing projects in Mannar, Vavuniya

The National Housing Development Authority(NHDA) will launch a
housing project in Mannar and Vavuniya districts with the financial
assistance of the Indian government, said an NHDA official.
“The NHDA plans to build 6,000 houses under this project. All houses
will be constructed with Indian funds and the Construction, Engineering
Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa
directed NHDA officials to build all houses with community
participation,” the official said.
He also said that under this project the NHDA provides Rs. 5.5
million for the construction of a new house and Rs. 2.5 million for
housing repairs. “Housing beneficiaries will be selected through
district secretaries, Grama Niladaris and government officials,” he
said. |
