Invitation for project proposals of ISLF
India-Sri Lanka Foundation (ISLF) invites project proposal for
funding support, in the areas of education, art and culture,
archaeological studies, agricultural research, science and technology,
information technology, health, development studies and gender studies
which would be considered at the next meeting of Board of Directors in
mid-October.
Under the above thrust areas, proposals could be submitted for
research projects and other educational activities at recognized
institutions of learning located in India and in Sri Lanka, visits and
exchanges involving students, scholars, academics, artists,
professionals and performing artistes, to participate in
conference/seminar, symposia, art exhibition, film festival, cultural
events and training workshops etc, publication of research works on
India-Sri Lanka relations in the specified fields and translating
literary works in Indian languages to Sri Lankan languages and
publishing them, and vice-versa.
Individuals, Institution and Groups are invited to submit proposals
which would be considered during the next meeting of the Board of
Directors in October 2012.
Some of the recent projects which were funded by the ISLF includes
visit of famous photographer Benoy Behl to capture images of Buddhist
sites in Sri Lanka; visit of Flute Maestro Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia
to participate in the Colombo Music Festival; organization of “divine
Ecstasy”, a cultural event with a combination of cultural performances
and workshops by T.M. Krishna, Mrs. Alrmel Valli, and P. Unnikrishnan in
Jaffna coinciding with the Annual Nallur Temple Festival; visit of
author, publisher and festival Director Ms. Namitha Gokhale to Sri
Lanka, Part support to Jaffna University International Research
Conference (JUICE 2012); participation of Richmond College Galle
students at Gat@way 2012 Computer Tournament, New Delhi; and part
support to stating of Samhara, a dance drama by Chitrasena Dance Company
and Nirtyagram Dance Ensemble from India. A duly filled application from
which could be downloaded from the Indian High Commission website (www.hcicolombo.org)
along with the proposal may be forwarded to the address given below to
reach ISLF by September 20.
