Over 300,000 worship Sacred Relics in Tissamaharama

Over 300,000 devotees arrived in Tissamaharama from Wednesday from all corners of the country to worship the Sacred Kapilavasthu Relics at the Tissamaharama Rajamaha Viharaya.

The heavy rush eased towards evening enabling every devotee to worship the Relics, Assistant Buddhist Affair Commissioner General Chinthaka Jayasinghe said.

The Sacred Relics were brought to Tissamaharama from the Matara Kotikagoda Rajamaha Viharaya on Wednesday morning.

The first Exposition at the Tissamaharama Rajamaha Viharaya saw a four kilometre queue of devotees.
