The American Chamber of Commerce Sri Lanka (AMCHAM) and the US
Embassy will jointly organize a trade show at Hilton Hotel Colombo on
September 16 to provide an opportunity for business to promote their
products and services.
Speaking on the ‘US Trade Show’ at a media briefing AMCHAM President
Vijaya Ratnayake said the United State has expressed its desire to
increase more FDI flows to Sri Lanka while increasing Sri Lankan exports
to the US. He said it is worth noting that with the announcement of the
National Export Initiatives in 2010 the United States is keen in
doubling their exports by 2014 and Sri Lankan importers could benefit by
these incentives given to US exporters by finding the right trading
partners to source high quality products from USA such as machinery,
equipment, IT and other high end fields.
He said both Sri Lanka and the US were looking for new opportunities
to further develop bilateral trade and the event coincides with the 20th
anniversary of the American Chamber of Commerce in Sri Lanka . AMCHAM in
Sri Lanka brings together over 350 members representing US companies, US
equity companies and Sri Lankan companies doing business with USA to
promote trade and investment between the two countries. |
