Singapore crush Brunei -76/18

Singapore claimed an easy win beating Brunei 76 – 18 in the fourth day of the 8th Asian Netball Championship 2012 at Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium yesterday.

The Singaporians were dominating the match from the first quarter and the opponents couldn’t make much headway in the match due to their poor performances and lack of tall players. Singapore continued their dominancy in the second, third and final quarters and finished the game earning 76 goals at the end of the fourth quarter.

Yumei Ling netted 34 goals out of 39 attempts while Cassandra Soh netted 32 goals in 39 attempts. And Singapore qualified for the quarter finals.

Meanwhile, Hong Kong recorded their second victory in the championship by beating Nepal 77 – 2 . Nepal tasted their third defeat after beating to Japan and Sri Lanka. Lacking of experience and poor performance lead them to defeat.

Felicity Broadly was the main contributor of the Hong Kong team with 26 goals in 44 attempts. Emma Gregory in her 30 attempts, scored 25 goals for Hong Kong.

Hong Kong will meet Japan at 11.00 am and Nepal will meet India at 12.45 pm while Brunei will meet Malaysia at 2.30 pm today.
