Road development in full swing in Batticaloa
The government has provided facilities for all communities to live in
harmony, UPFA General Secretary and Petroleum Industries Minister Susil
Premajayantha said.
He said any Sri Lankan can visit any part of the island without fear.
The minister was speaking participating at the inauguration of the
construction of a Rs 20 million concrete road from Siththandy to
Santhanamadu in the Chenkalady division in Batticaloa under the Deyata
Kirula programme.
Resettlement Deputy Minister Vinayagamoorthy Muralitharan had invited
Minister Premajayantha for the ceremony. Rural Development Society
president S Sritharan presided. This road was affected by floods that
devastated the area recently.
Residents said once the road is constructed it will be a boon for
minor crop cultivators and farmers. (SP)
