Pooja dance performance
Glamorous charming girls in glistening white costumes and jewellery
stepped on to the stage slowly when blue light was dawning remembering
celestial nymphs.
They caught eyes of every one watching. 'Pooja' dance and the rhythm
of drums made the event exciting other creations including Krishna,
Nagakanya, Devadasi and puppets attracted the gathering. A colorful
dancing evening consisting 25 such events held in 2009 comes to our
mind.
After three years 'Lakshan art acadamy' is getting ready for a
similar event. They have projected to perform creations that they have
collected during last three years. Vijaya Kuweni, Sadha kinduri, Sudu
monara, Saliya Ashokamala and Jungle are amongst them this time they
have given priority for the event of 'Vijaya Kuweni'.
Prince Vijaya explores the sea and arrives to this island and marries
a tribal leader named Kuweni, and governs the island. Meanwhile Vijaya
hounds out keweni listening to Brahmins words and marries a princess
from India. This incident is brought as a ballet. It is wise to watch
the drama rather than writing about it. This event was first performed
in the opening ceremony of Sri Lanka Nature Loving on April 6. In
addition this event is brought to you in several aspects. It also
includes free style dancing event to Tamil and Hindi songs.
