Educational seminars for scholarship students by Sampath bank

Sampath Bank, celebrating its 25th anniversary, recently concluded its popular series of educational seminars for Year 5 scholarship students, held for the 3rd consecutive year, providing them with the opportunity to expand their knowledge and simultaneously win some great prizes.

Sampath Pubudu and Sapiri Children's Savings Accounts holders, as well as non-account holders, were equally able to make the most of these educational seminars, in preparation for the Year Five Scholarship Examination, which was held on August 26th this year.

The 2012 series of seminars, which commenced on the 30th of June, at the Haliela National School, covered several more towns during the months of July and August, which included Palmadulla, Deniyaya, Kegalle, Pannala and Kandy.

The seminars, conducted by some of Sri Lanka's most experienced and popular teachers, tackled many aspects of the Year 5 Scholarship Examination, including possible questions, time management and how to tackle difficult questions.

Concurrent to the educational seminars for the students, the parents too, benefited from a seminar of a different sort; one which focused on the fundamentals of financial planning and a basic introduction to banking.

The students were unanimous in their praise for the seminars, concluding that they would undoubtedly prove instrumental in successfully facing the Year 5 Scholarship Exam. They further added that they gained valuable insights into general knowledge, quick answers and how to easily resolve mathematical problems, through these seminars.

The parents of the Year 5 students, who attended the seminars conducted in the out-stations, were specially full of praise for Sampath Bank and Neth FM, surmising that thanks to these two organisations, their children had benefited from talented and vastly experienced Colombo-based teachers. Refreshments for both students and their parents were provided by Sampath Bank and Neth FM at all the locations.

Moreover, under the Minor savings scheme of Sampath Bank the five students who garner the highest marks in the Island will be awarded Rs.20,000/- each: however, if they are Sampath Pubudu or Sapiri Children's Accounts holders, the prizes would immediately be doubled to Rs.40,000 each. Further, the top five scorers in every district would be awarded Rs.10,000 each, and if they are Sampath Pubudu or Sapiri Children's Accounts holders, the prize money would be automatically doubled.
