Another suspect in Museum theft arrested

The Police arrested another suspect in the National Museum theft from Maligawatta, Police Media Spokesman SSP Ajith Rohana said yesterday.

Police said the suspect was apprehended with a gem studded gold ring, ancient coins and jewellery believed to be artefacts.

The suspect was apprehended on Tuesday night with a host of artefacts stolen from the National Museum, SSP Rohana said.

The suspect was handed over to the Colombo Crimes Division for further questioning.

All suspects were remanded until September 3.
