Student electrocuted

A student who was to sit for the Grade 5 scholarship exam this month was electrocuted in Maddegoda on Monday.

Shashika Charith Bandara was a student of Udugama, Wijethunga National School. There was a break down in the high tension wire near his house and the student who was on his way to a nearby shop had accidentally trod on the wire in his path.

It was also revealed the high tension wire had fallen four days prior to the incident.

Investigations are continuing.
