Anagarika Dharmapala special commemoration in Waranasi

The Buddhist Affairs Department with Sethsiri Lanka Travels Pvt (Ltd)
will hold a commemoration ceremony to mark the 148th birth commemoration
ceremony of Anagarika Dharmapala which falls on September 17, titled
Bosath Dampal Harasara 2012 and Buddha Rashmi Maha Seela Sampada 2012 at
Waranasi, Seveth Nuwara with the participation of Dhamma schoolchildren
selected islandwide.
The programme will be held on September 15, 16 and 17. Only six
children will be selected for the programme. The nominees will be
selected from those placed first in the inter Dhamma school competitions
conducted at district level.
Selected children have the opportunity to display their vocal talents
in Waranasi along with veteran Sri Lankan musicians.

Sujatha Thera said the Buddhist Affairs Department with Sethsiri Lanka
Travels Pvt (Ltd) are holding this programme continuously for a long
time.
Children with singing abilities have the opportunity to participate
in this event in India.
Buddhist Affairs Commissioner (Dhamma schools) Donald Murage said the
time has come to introduce and teach about Anagarika Dharmapala to the
new generation. Sethsiri Lanka Travels Pvt (Ltd) Managing Director Upul
Weerasinghe said in the near future they will get an opportunity to
present the voice of Anagarika Dharmapala to whole of the world.
Musician Jagath Wickramsinghe selected students for the tour among
the winners.
