Norochcholai repairs successful

The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) yesterday announced that the repairing of the Norochcholai power plant was successful.

They said that the repairs will be completed by August 27. The power generating of the power plant will commence on August 27.

It will add its total capacity to the national power grid by August 28.

The decision whether to continue the power cuts or not will be taken as well, they added. According to the CEB sources the power cuts will continue till August 27. A group of seven engineers from China have arrived in Sri Lanka recently to repair the Lakvijaya Coal Power Plant and they are to complete repairs within one week.
