Micromax ties up with Metropolitan Telecom

Micromax Informatics Ltd (Micromax), India's leading handset manufacturer announced the appointment of Metropolitan Telecom Services as its sole agent in Sri Lanka. Through this exclusive partnership, Micromax hopes to aggressively expand its activities and presence in the Country.

Micromax has over fifty handsets in its portfolio from basic phones to 3G technology handsets with android operating systems. Innovative products have been a strong growth driver in India and the company plans to bring the same innovation and quality products to cater to the advanced telecommunication needs of the Sri Lankan consumer, with particular focus on the youth segment. Sanjeev Ariaratnam, Sri Lanka's Country Manager for Micromax, was upbeat on the partnership. "We are delighted to have Metropolitan Telecom as our sole agent and look forwards to collaborating closely with them in creating a whole new telecom experience to our Sri Lankan consumers".

Micromax plans to attain a strong position and overall enhance brand visibility in the Country. A wide variety of phones from full-feature mass market devices to gaming specific and social messenger phones, in keeping with its brand essence of "Nothing Like Anything" will be available through a streamlined and effective distributor network.
