Century by Harsha but St Peter's rout Rahula

A magnificient 102 runs in 115 balls with 15 boundaries and a six by Harsha Rajapaksha could not prevent St Peter's College Colombo from routing Rahula College Matara by four wickets in their under 17 division one second round cricket match played at the St Peter's grounds recently.

Put in to bat Rahula scored 190 runs for the loss of nine wickets in their 50 overs. Harsha Rajapaksa was the only batsman to take the Peterite bowlers to task and together with Dakshina Trishan 20 from 78 deliveries he put on 108 runs for 6th wicket. Harsha's contribution to this partnership was 77 runs . Janith Liyanage and Vinu Mohotti captured two wickets each.

The Petes were well on their way to victory with the score at 186/6 in 29.5 overs when rain put an end to further play. Kavinda de Tissera unbeaten on 61 from 67 deliveries and Chandula Jayamanna 53 from 53 balls sealed Rahula's fate scoring 91 runs for the fourth wicket. Piushan Kulathunga, Harsha Rajapaksha and Rukshan Perera took two wickets each. St Peters won the game handsomely on the Parabola formula.
