Theagarajah, MD/CEO of HNB receives award

Rajendra Theagarajah MD/CEO of Hatton National Bank PLC was conferred with the award for “Outstanding Contribution to the Banking Industry” in recognition of the valuable services rendered to the Banking industry by the Council of Association, at the 24th Anniversary Convention of the Association of Professional Bankers Sri Lanka held on August13,2012 at the Cinnamon Grand Hotel Colombo.

Since its inception in 2006 the Association of Professional Bankers (APB) has recognized ten eminent individuals who have made outstanding contributions to the Banking Industry in Sri Lanka. This year the council of APB conferred this award on Rohini Nanayakkara and Rajendra Theagarajah, two outstanding bankers at the 24th Anniversary Convention. Theagarajah was conferred with this award in absentia at a glittering ceremony at the inauguration of the Convention.

The Governor of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka, Ajith Nivard Cabraal was the Chief Guest at this ceremony. Rajendra Theagarajah, who is the youngest recipient of this award, is a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Sri Lanka.
