Gajaba Super Cross on August 26

The stage is set for the 11th edition of Gajaba Super Cross with a classy experience will take place on August 26 at Gajaba Regiment motor track at Saliyapura, Anuradhapura.

The Gajaba Regiment Centre in Saliyapura in Colloboration with Sri Lanka Association of Racing Drivers and Riders (SLARDAR) conducts this most popular racing event which will see a participance over 200 outstanding drivers and riders .

The motor racing event was inaugurated in 1999, and the event is known as a one of the most popular motor event in the country to date.

Major General Sumedha Perera one of the strong hands behind the success of this mega event, briefing the media said that all the arrangements are ready for the event and this will provide a maximum exposure to young drivers and riders.

” with the current situation of the country after liberation we aim to attract more and more people from North Central Province.

The funds that would be raised from the event, will be spent to improve the welfare benefits measures to the battle causalities including families of the soldiers killed in action and disabled soldiers” added Perera.

The two kilometer track at Saliyapura which has six turns, will help the racing drivers to show the best of their skills while the riders will have a more challenging track to survive and the event will comprise of 23 racing events this time. The riders will be awarded with a cash prizes for the first, second and third places respectively.
