Prison guards nabbed for alleged assault
Six prison guards of the Anuradhapura prison were
arrested by Mahawa Police for allegedly assaulting a bus driver and
a Police Constable on the Kurunegala main road in Dalandagama.

Mother arrested on torture charges
A 22-year-old woman was arrested by Wellawaya
Police on Wednesday for the alleged torture of her four-year-old
pre- school going son. The boy has been hospitalised at Wellawaya
Hospital.
