Police promotions

Twenty two Superintendents of Police (SP) including Police Media spokesman SP Ajith Rohana have been promoted to the rank of Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) with effect from last month, police sources said.

Eighteen officers have been promoted with effect from June 7 while four of the new SSP promotions are effective since July 1.

W N S W Wickremasinghe, IGP Stores; L P S P Sandungahawatta, Parliament Division; V P C A Siriwardena, Crime Division; J A G G Jayakody, Public Relations Division; J A D M G N Jayakody, Sports Division; R M N G O Perera, President Security Division; W M M Wickremasinghe, President Security Division; H K D W M P B Rathnatilake, DIG Office,Nugegoda; B D Chandrasiri – STF Camp, Gonahena; W M R M Welikanna - State Intelligence Unit; D R L Ranaweera - Colombo Crime Division; S W Y B S B Baddewela -Terror Investigation Division; A K Samarasekara, Information Technology Division; M H K B Ellepola, Kandy Division; D Gajasinghe, CID and K P P Fernando - Central Vice Control Unit, Walana have been promoted as SSPs while another four SPs were promoted SSPs by the State Service Commission.

They are L K J G S Peiris, State Intelligence Unit; K P M Gunaratne, P S D L H K W K Silva, Police College and A H M W C K Alakoon, Nikaweratiya Division.
