MLH Group revives Travel Trade Sports Club
Despite global enthusiasm for the sport now with the Olympics being
the topic of all conversation, Club Bentota is taking the spirit of
Beach Volleyball to a notch higher by playing host for the 6th Travel
Trade Sports Club – Beach Volleyball Championships. After a six year
lull, The Mount Lavinia Hotel Group took the initiative to revive the
Championships this weekend, with a whopping team participation of over
24 teams from many sectors of the travel trade.
Arguably the home of beach volleyball today, walking the beach on any
given time at Club Bentota, you will see all levels and all ages
engaging in recreational 6-man games.
“The sport has become as ingrained in the Club Bentota lifestyle as
the home for exciting water sports, or watching the sunset, therefore it
was naturally evident that we take on the initiative to revive this, and
indeed there was great enthusiasm”, Chintaka Daluwatte of the MLHG
states.
The venue for the championship to be held on August 11 will be at
Club Bentota formerly known formerly as Club Robinson.
The all inclusive property surfaces a complete adventure holiday
resort with a secluded and, breathtaking beach front to compliment the
already luscious property.
The property is 100 percent owned and a subsidiary of the MLHG. This
premier all inclusive hotel is located in a 15 acre palm fringed
peninsula referred to as Paradise Island in beautiful Bentota.
Twenty four teams from the hotel/aviation/leisure and hospitality
sectors will vie for the “Cup”, “Plate”, and the “Bowl”.
To name a few teams that will participate are: SriLankan Airlines,
Bentota Beach Hotel, Lanka Princess, Eden Hotel and Spa, Jetwing Blue,
Jetwing Beach, Heritance Ahungalle, Amaya Hills, Club Bentota.
