A stress free evening:
Wilson Gunaratne’s Charitha Atak
“Look beyond the differences and find the way to walk the path
together to overpower the international coup....”
International acclaimed actor, Wilson Gunaratne’s newest creation
Charitha Atak would go on stage at the Bishop’s Auditorium on August 12
at 3.30 pm and 6.30 pm.
The story revolves around an aircraft which has been grounded for the
past 64 years, unable to be airborne due to the obstacles to the
development programme. It gives a clear picture about opportunities,
time servers and very bad bureaucracy. The play gives a clue to the
present pilot and his crew members that, if the appropriate
well-designed plans could be implemented, the dreamland aircraft could
be airborne to make a successful and comfortable journey to the
passengers who have been looking forward for a safe journey from
February 4, 1948.
“I have done a very deep study about world politics. I am keeping a
very close eye on the current situation. I appeal to the masses to come
and see Charitha Atak and identify the 8 characters by them selves,”
Wilson explained.
The 8 characters of the above political satire would depict 8
different national concepts. The cast includes Wilson Gunaratne (in 8
different characters), Gamini Hettiarachchi, Keerthi Bandara, Harry
Wimalasena, G. Chandrathilak, Premaratne Thennakoon, Kasun Chamara,
Suresh Wettasinghe, Lanka Wijesiriwardane, Indunil Seyathgedara, Janaka
Wasantha Kumara. The play has been organized by the welfare society of
Sri Lanka Telecom Customer Care and parallel service. The audience would
be in fits of laughter from the beginning to the end of the play. One
has to see it to believe..... The organizers wish to invite the drama
lovers to be at Bishop’s Auditorium to have a stress free evening. For
