The time has come, for some Sri Lankan Talent to hit the stage! This August, the Deanna School of Dancing (DSD) under the very experienced Natasha Jayasuriya brings an explosion of dance with mind blowing choreography and a kaleidoscope of dance styles.

With three successful productions, Hipnotic, Attitude and Kinetic under their belt, the talented dancers of the Freestyle Department of DSD return with another extraordinary performance, ‘Unleashed’.

The Free Style Department of DSD comprises of over 200 passionate students whose love for dance and the want to showcase their skills brings together a biennial production of epic proportions.

DSD Artistic Director Natasha Jayasuriya, who is the daughter of DSD Principal Deanna Jayasuriya, has a dance background in classical Ballet, Hip Hop and Street Jazz, Tap, Spanish Ballroom and Latin Ballroom.

Sponsored by Ceylon Agro Industries and Sun FM, Unleashed will feature a wide variety of acts, from Hip Hop to Jazz, Classical Ballet to Krumping, portraying the versatility of the dancers at DSD and their drive to explore and excel in the techniques of all mediums and expressions of dance.

Audiences at Unleashed will be boldly entertained. They will experience a wild contemporary fusion of styles that redefine dance. From tapping into the deepest emotions, allowing one to reminisce on their favourite music video, playing ‘games’ with their head, trap one in the glitz and glamour of Broadway and remind one why the 90s was the best decade of one’s life! If you like your dancing hard, fast and intense then prepare to be left enthralled on the August 17 and 18 at the Bishop’s College Auditorium as the ‘Unleashed’ Troupe breaks all the boundaries of movement and redefines the essence of dance.
