Body of murder suspect found hanging from tree

Police yesterday found the body of a man wanted in connection with his father’s murder, hanging from a mango tree near the suspect’s mother- in- law’s house in Siyambalanduwa.

Police said the suspect who allegedly hacked his father to death on August 1 at Siyambalanduwa, was evading arrest. The incident occurred over a land dispute.

The suspect is alleged to have attacked his father outside his home. When the victim ran into the house to escape the son followed him and attacked him.

Two days after the incident the suspect was found hanging from a tree.
