‘No IDPs by mid-August’

Vast development in North and East:

‘The resettlement of IDPs in the North will be accomplished 100 percent by mid-August this year. All welfare camps in the North will be shut down, Defence and Urban Development Ministry Secretary Gotabhaya Rajapaksa said.

Navy rescues 28 in mid - sea

Group illegally heading for Australia:

The Navy yesterday rescued 28 persons from a stricken vessel drifting in the deep sea, 300 nautical miles off Galle. The people on board had been heading for Australia illegally.
