Misfire kills SI

A Sub Inspector of Neluwa Police had been killed due to a firearm misfire by one of his own colleagues, a Sub Inspector of the same Police.

As reported, a group of policemen of Neluwa Police had raided an illicit liquor brewery at Ihala Lelwala, Neluwa and while they were attempting to arrest the suspects who were trying to escape, the pistol of his fellow officer had been mistakenly fired , causing fatal injuries to the SI.

The Sub Inspector succumbed to his injuries while he was being taken to the Neluwa Hospital for treatment.
