Suspect arrested in theft case

A suspect wanted in connection with the theft of Rs. 450,000 from a wholesale trade centre in Kandana, Welisara, was arrested by the Kandana Police on Thursday.

According to Police investigations, it has been revealed that the suspect was from Badulla and had been lodging in a room in Kandana.

He had allegedly stolen the money and spent some of it to buy jewellery, a mobile phone and clothes.

OIC CDB Kandana Police, SI Wickremarachchie, PS Newton, PCs Wasantha and Herath had arrested the suspect under the instructions of OIC Kandana Police IP Lucky Randeniya.
