Dy minister's website highlights service to nation

Ports and Highways Deputy Minister Rohitha Abeygunawardana, yesterday
inaugurated his official website www.rohithaabeygunawardana.org which
highlighted in detail his socio, economic and political service to the
nation.
Deputy Minister Abeygunawardana addressing at the website launching
ceremony held in Colombo, said that the Abegunawardena Foundation was
started on February 23, 2011, to cater to the society's various types of
projects on welfare. The projects comprising Sanda Arunalu, Singithi
Udana, Nena Sarana, Nethranjali and Sadaham Pahana, have been planned to
render a great service to the revolution and the maintenance of social
welfare.
"I hope to promote activities relating to social development through
the participation of the general public and particularly, the people of
Kalutara District," he said.
Several projects would be implemented in order to participate in
activities relating to social, cultural and economic development of the
country and also to train children to be aware of religious and other
values and to instill in them an interest in sports activities, with a
view to enhance their potential in order that they may be equipped to
grow up and participate in the development of the country.
Among the several other objectives, providing assistance in
establishing and developing religious centres, protecting and preserving
the moral and cultural values of the people, working towards bridging
the gap between the general public and the public service, providing
assistance in obtaining legal aid and legal advice to the needy,
assisting victims of sudden disasters and provide assistance in
improving their living standards and providing assistance to persons who
are mentally and physically handicapped, have been given priority. |
