Dhamma school anniversary national festival

The Buddhasasana and Religious Affairs Ministry will hold the 117th Dhamma School anniversary national festival at the Nuwara Eliya Town Hall on August 3. Prime Minister D M Jayaratne will be the chief guest, chief advisor of dhamma schools in Kurunegala Kadigamuwe Dhammadassi Nayaka Thera said.

About 3,000 scholarships will be offered to needy dhamma school students to continue their higher studies. Nearly 1,200 ceremonies will be held islandwide to pay tribute to 45,000 dhamma school teachers who serve voluntarily at dhamma schools.
