Panagoda - Best Boxer

P P D Panagoda of Sri Lanka Army was adjudged the Best Boxer at the Intermediate Boxing Meet 2012 which concluded yesterday at the Sugathadasa Indoor Stadium.

He overcame L M Suduwelikanda of Kotelawala Defence University in the lightweight 60kgs category and was awarded the Danton Obeysekera Challenge Trophy by the chief guest, Chairman of the Army Boxing Committee, Maj Gen R V Samaratunga. Suduwelikanda had the consolation of being picked as the Best Loser for his gallant display.

Meanwhile, T L D M Abeywardena of MAS Thurulie beat W N D Fernando of Sri Lanka Army to win the women's Bantamweight under 54 kgs category. She was picked as the Best Boxer of the women's category for her sterling display. Fernando was rewarded when she was adjudged the Best Loser in the women's category.
