Navy nabs five, fishing illegally

Naval troops attached to SLNS Buwaneka of the North Central Naval
Command arrested five persons engaged in illegal fishing in the seas off
Vidattaltivu recently. Naval troops recovered the fiber glass dingy, 543
kilograms of fish caught illegally using explosives, five diving masks
and five diving fins.
Lectures by Sheikh Sulaiman Moola

Mahakumbabishekam ceremony
The Mahakumbabishekam ceremony of the Sri Ponnambalavaneswarar Hindu
Temple, Kotahena will be performed tomorrow at 10.30am by priests,
temple trustee D M Swaminathan MP said.
The ceremony will be conducted with Head of Vedic College in Palany,
Tamil Nadu, Sivaga Sironmany S Balasubramaniyam as the chief priest.
Tamil Nadu Kanchipuram Sivasri J Krishnamurthy, temple priests Sri
Jayachandra Kurukkal, Sri Chandrakumara Kurukkal, Sri Surendra Kurukkal,
Sri Babalasubramaniya Kurukkal and Sri Muralidhara Kurukkal will
officiate in the ceremony.

two children, is suffering from a coronary artery disease. He needs

P A Sachini Nilunika of Thelamugaha Waththa, Kapugama East Devinuwara
underwent surgery for meduloblastma at the age of 18 months. She is now
12 years.
She has been attending clinic at the National Cancer Institute,
Maharagama regularly to detect any recurrence and is receiving
anti-epileptic treatment.
Her parents find it difficult to bear the expenses and seek

Public talk
Bhikkuni Kusuma will deliver a public talk in English on

Islamic lecture
The conference of Sri Lankan Malays and the trustees of Wekanda Jumma
Masjid will hold the monthly Islamic lecture series 'In the Shade of the
Holy Qur'an' tomorrow from 10. 30 am to Luhar prayers at the Wekanda
Jumma Masjid. Asha Shaikh Arqam Nooramith will deliver the Ceramah (Bayaan).
The topic is The Spirit of Ramadhan. Special arrangements are made to
accommodate women and facilities for them to offer their Luhar prayers.
