Spells out int'l, local expansion plans:
Perera and Sons hosts first press confab

Perera and Sons Limited, had created company history by hosting the
first ever press conferences since its inception 110 years ago at their
new premises in Duplications Road, Colombo 3, to announce their future
plans.

The family owned company, spelled out plans to expand their portfolio
to the North and East. "We are also looking to expanding our company to
the Maldives and have being trying to enter the Indian market for the
past three years," Gihan Perera, Managing Direcor, Perera and Sons said.
He said that they were in to India.
He said that the company had invested Rs. 50 million to open the five
storied Bars Cafe at Duplication Road and they were hoping to reinvest
around Rs. 50 million this year for expansions.
"We have already bought the land in two new locations for
expansions,he said.
Perera who hails from the third generation, said that the company
ownership had been among the family members and a few friends and said
that they had no intention of obtaining a listing.
He said that Perera & Sons strived to maintain the high levels of
quality that have been and still were famous for. While state of the art
production equipment and ultra modern facilities have enabled us to
maintain a competitive edge and high standards of quality and also
enabled us to provide customers the best value for their money. Most of
all, this technology has helped us manufacture optimum quality foods
that carries 100 years of consumer trust and bakery experience within
them. "We have opened 4 new branches in Dambulla, Minneriya, Matara and
Bentota, recently to provide a better service and coverage," he added. |
