Lakme Facewashes, a unique entry into beauty care market

Having been inspired by the aura of its legacy, Unilever Sri Lanka, has introduced Lakme facewash products in four varieties, making it a remarkable addition to its beauty portfolio.

"After a much anticipated prolong, Unilever has been delighted to finally introduce Lakme to the Sri Lankan market. This magnificent brand which is a unique entry into this market, is the leader specializing on the Asian skin with essence that is international in its composition," Unilever Sri Lanka Personal Care Brand Director Ramani Samarasundara said.

She said that Unilever was committed to double its production capacity and at present, 33 percent of its portfolio comprised of personal care products. "We have set out a strategy in winning beauty, home care and detergent business," she said. Unilever is looking forward to generate 50 percent of its growth from emerging markets. The latest products being a kind of evolvement in Sri Lankan consumers. The multi national company has invested heavily in research and development in a bid to improve on technology.

Unilever, the leader in many categories of products in Sri Lanka, has a strong international branding. The launch of its latest product, marks the 30th brand in the portfolio of local business. Unilever, introduced Lakme to the Sri Lankan consumers through its Lakme Fruit Blast Facewashes products. Drenched with crushed fruits and packed with vitamins and antioxidants, Lakme Fruit Blast facewash cleanses the skin leaving it rehydrated, refreshed, soft and delicately perfumed with fragrance of the fruit variant. With specialized variants, Lakme Fruit Blast Facewash was unique in its creation and specially formulated to be suitable for different skin types and conditions in the varieties of strawberry, melon, citrus and honey.
