Dimuth (83) steers Lanka ‘A’ to 290/8
The touring Sri Lanka ‘A’ team scored 290 for 8 wickets at stumps on
the first day in the second unofficial four day Test match against South
Africa ‘A’ at Kingsmead, Durban. South Africa ‘A’ captain F du Plessis
won the toss and elected to field first. Sri Lanka ‘A’ captain and
opening batsman Dimuth Karunaratne scored 83 runs with a one six and 11
fours.
All-rounder Sachithra Serasinghe smashed 53 runs with four fours and
he joined with Kosala Kulasekera for a 50-run partnership for the
seventh wicket. Earlier, Karunaratne and Angelo Perera added a half
century partnership for the fifth wicket. R Mclaren shone for South
Africa ‘A’ claiming three wickets for 32 runs. South Africa ‘A’ lead the
two-match series 1-0.
