Bangladesh team visits Navy HQ

A 24-member study team from the Bangladesh National Defence College following the Armed Forces War Course (AFWC)- 2012, visited the Naval Headquarters in Colombo recently.

They were accompanied by five directing staff members and Bangladesh Defence Adviser in Sri Lanka Commander M. Nasir.

Head of the visiting team Brigadier General Sajjadul Haque called on Navy Commander Vice Admiral Somathilake Dissanayake and held discussions on matters of mutual interests. Mementos were also exchanged as a gesture of goodwill.

The National Defence College of Bangladesh is a premier national centre of excellence on security, strategic and development studies. The AFWC run by the college aims to develop professional knowledge and understanding of selected mid-career officers of the three services to prepare them for the assumption of increasing responsibilities of the staff and in command.

The visiting team viewed a presentation on Sri Lanka Navy and its operations as part of the study tour.
