Body found in canal

A body of a man was recovered by Anuradhapura Police in the Wessagiriya Canal in Anuradhapura on Wednesday following information by the public. It was identified as that of Dhanushka, 28, a resident of Vijayapura, Anuradhapura.

Police believe the youth said to be a drug addict would have drowned when he ventured into the canal for a bath the previous evening and the body would have been dragged away by the waters a few metres away from the bathing spot.
