Epic Lanka diversifies into coating industry

Epic Lanka, the award winning IT solutions provider has diversified
into the coating industry, providing a total coating solution to the
construction industry. Chairman, Epic Lanka Group Nayana Dehigama, told
"Daily News Business" that the new company "Prime Coat International,
would mainly step into acquisitions and joint ventures in its expansion
process during this year. This would create a number of job
opportunities to the people of different areas. It had already provided
nearly 100 employment opportunities at the factory built in
Kirimatiyagara, Kadawatha, he said

Dehigama said that although the company was set up nearly eight years
ago, becoming the first ever water based paint manufacturer in Sri
Lanka, it had stagnated due to the war situation prevailing at that
time. However, as there was a construction boom in the country now, it
was the right time to move forward. The company had been totally
re-structured with a plan to make it a billion rupee project by 2014,"
he said.
"Prime Coat International" hoped to take their range of products
namely metal,. auto paint, emulsion, water proofing and anti-corrosive
fillars islandwide within a period two years through the distribution
network
Dehigama said there was a huge potential for the paint industry in
the country, but it was essential to be innovative to remain sustainable
and he was planning to introduce innovative products to be able to go
overseas in the long run. |
