Indians held with illegal drugs

 

Sri Lanka Navy arrested four Indians attempting to smuggle illegal inhaling drugs from Rameshwaram, disguised as fishermen in the seas south of Mannar on June 30. Naval personnel attached to the North-western Naval Command conducted the raid and arrested the Indian Dhow named “Pradishwaram” bearing registration number TN/10WV169,with fishing nets.

They found 32 boxes of illegal inhaling drugs, each with a capacity of 17500 grams. The Navy handed over the suspects,drug boxes and the trawler to the Kalpitiya Police for further investigations.
