Teak logs worth over Rs 400,000 seized

Two men transporting 130 teak logs outside the stipulated measurements in the transport licence were arrested by Ingiriya Range Forest Office officers at Raygama junction on the Ratnapura-Panadura road.

The suspects in their twenties are residents of Moratuwa. A spokesman for the Range Forest Office said the teak was worth nearly Rs 400,000. The suspects are to be produced before court.
