Road dilapidated

The road from Diyanilla to Ellauda in the Ambagamuwa (Ginigathena) Divisional Secretariat division in the Nuwara Eliya district is in a state of disrepair.

The road with large pot-holes turn into muddy pools on rainy days, inconveniencing motorists and pedestrians. The Hatton and Nawalapitiya CTB depots operating a bus service on the Diyanilla-Ellauda Road are compelled to run buses on the dilapidated road inconveniencing passengers.

Villagers appeal to the authorities to reconstruct the Diyanilla-Ellauda road.

SLBC programme on July 3

The Sinhala National Service of the Sri Lanka Broadcasting Corporation (SLBC) will present a programme by W.K. Sarath Wimalasiri over the Shraddhanjalee Programme from 12 noon to 12.45 p.m on July 3.

He will make an analytical presentation of the songs composed, based on various themes in Buddhist Literature.

He will also present his views on the lyrics, singing and music on the topics under discussion.

The programme is produced by Rohana Dharmakeerthi and presented by Dilka Handuwala.

SLMA conference

The Sri Lanka Medical Association(SLMA) will hold their 123rd annual conference from July 2 to July 6 at BMICH, said SLMA president Dr.Vajira Dissanayake.

“This year's main focus is on introducing Information Technology into health science which has to be done methodically. Information Technology is the central nervous system in many fields of work and the SLMA hopes to have IT linked with our hospital system.”
