Ananda take Chandrasinghe Trophy

Ananda College Colombo clinched the Sam Chandrasinghe Foot ball Tournament by beating Richmond College Galle by one goal to nil in the final played at Ananda College Grounds on Sunday . In the semi finals Ananda beat Elizabeth Moir International Schools on a Penalty shoot out by 3 - 2 after the scores read nil all at full time while Richmond beat Hewawitharana MV, Rajagiriya by one - nil.

St.Patrick's College Jaffna edged out Rahula College Matara by one goal to nil to take the Plate Championship trophy while Mahinda College Galle bagged the Bowl Championship with a one - nil win over Higurana MV, Ampara.

47 Schools took part in this competition including 12 Schools from Northern and Eastern Provinces. The Tournament was organized by Ananda College with the blessings of the Sri Lanka Schools Football Association.

The tournament has been conducted from 2003 . And it has become more popular with more schools taking part every year.
